Salone del Mobile 2026: Open Frame between light, nature, and architecture

At Salone del Mobile 2026, RODA presents Open Frame, an exhibition project designed by Piero Lissoni that translates the brand’s vision into an open, essential, and contemporary architectural space.

A 400 sqm installation that tells the story of over thirty years of research and reaffirms the brand’s role in international outdoor design. The concept draws on the grammar of modernism, creating a setting where materials, light, and nature interact in a fluid way.

Within Open Frame, the new collections are showcased, marking a dialogue between continuity and innovation. DELPHI, designed by Gordon Guillaumier, reinterprets the archetype of woven seating through a contemporary lens. Teak shapes a fluid structure with a curved backrest that connects seamlessly to the legs, while taut cords create a light weave that combines comfort with visual transparency. An essential design, grounded in reduction and in the balance between craftsmanship and design rigor.

VELA, designed by M2Atelier, introduces an oblique gesture inspired by dynamic geometries that define the collection’s identity. The two lounge chair configurations interpret different ways of use, from relaxation to conversation. The natural iroko wood structure supports a painted aluminum backrest with woven straps. The cushions enhance comfort without altering the purity of the design, while the padded armrests add both tactile and visual softness, seamlessly integrating into the overall silhouette.

Completing the journey is NIDA, designed by Dordoni Studio, a modular system that redefines the concept of outdoor shelving and partitioning, transforming it into a flexible and customizable architectural element. The stainless steel structure, composed of vertical and horizontal elements, allows for tailored configurations. Trays in matte gres or wavy glass, along with storage modules in aluminum and iroko, make it possible to alternate solids and voids, creating dynamic and elegant solutions to organize outdoor spaces with full design freedom.

Alongside the new releases, Open Frame also features some of the company’s iconic collections, which engage in dialogue with the new exhibition concept, reinforcing the continuity of RODA’s language and its design heritage.

A cohesive narrative that strengthens RODA’s identity and its vision of an evolved outdoor living, where design, nature, and space come together as one continuous system.
