Bosco Diffuso – Switzerland
Set among rocky peaks, lakes and dense forests, one of the typical Engadine chesas—historic homes that have dotted the landscape since the 15th century with their solid walls and asymmetric windows—has been brought back to life through a contemporary project signed by Dario Turani. Overlooking the lake and nestled in a clearing, this three storey chesa has become the summer retreat of a young family.
The renovation expanded the interior spaces while preserving the building’s original external character. Special attention was given to the basement level, where a new pool area, defined by wide glass surfaces, creates a seamless dialogue with the surrounding landscape.
The interiors, essential yet welcoming, highlight natural materials and embrace a warm, harmonious atmosphere. Large windows open onto the lake, offering an uninterrupted view in which water and nature merge into a single breath.
The indoor pool area is furnished with the NETWORK and MISTRAL collections in teak, design Rodolfo Dordoni, while the outdoor dining area features the SPINNAKER extendable table and TEKA chairs, ensuring elegance, comfort and functionality. Every element is conceived to enhance the relationship between inside and outside, creating an inhabitable landscape where relaxation, conviviality and nature coexist effortlessly.
