Brutalist Villa in the Ella Valley – Israel

Location: Ella Valley
Project: Henkin Shavit
Photo: Filippo Poli

Set amidst the lush greenery of Israel’s Ella Valley, a brutalist villa explores the relationship between architecture and landscape through sculptural concrete forms, reflecting pools and expansive natural surroundings. Designed by Israeli architecture studio Henkin-Shavit, the residence draws inspiration from the architectural vision of Le Corbusier and Richard Meier, opening onto the surrounding hills and framing sweeping views of vineyards, sky and water

At the heart of the project lies a careful balance between architecture and nature, with indoor and outdoor spaces flowing seamlessly into one another. “When we design, we strive to maintain a balance between design and interior space, focusing on a strong connection between indoors and outdoors,” explain Irit Henkin and Zohar Shavit, founders of the studio. Their approach extends beyond the physical boundaries of the home, making the landscape an integral part of the architectural experience.

In the poolside area, a selection of RODA outdoor furnishings blends naturally into the setting, enhancing the relationship between architecture, comfort and nature. The BRICK table, ORSON folding armchairs and LAZE seating create an inviting space for relaxation and conviviality, defined by clean lines and refined materials.
A project in which outdoor design establishes a natural continuity between the built environment and the surrounding landscape.
